ROTTERDAM – On the historical way the first pole beaten for the construction of an ultra-modern new branch of DHL Express for the Rotterdam-The Hague. The Service Center is built on the Harnaschpolder business on the A4 in Den Hoorn, Midden-Delfland. The plant, which employs 200 people, will be inaugurated in the spring of 2017. The construction involves an investment of 12 million euros. The new building is part of an investment should facilitate the growth of DHL Express in the Netherlands.

The construction of the plant for the Rotterdam-The Hague region is part of the largest investment since DHL express themselves forty years ago, settled in the Netherlands. The new service center will get in Den Hoorn disposal 2,250 m2 of warehouse and 600 m2 of office space. The building will have two ‘Pick-Up & Delivery fingers’ with 60 docks for loading and unloading trucks. Service Center Rotterdam-The Hague is the base for about 60 vans and trucks servicing the area in and around the triangle The Hague, Gouda and Rotterdam. Rotterdam and The Hague methods make use of bicycle couriers with their Parcycles and Cubicycles (special cargo bikes for the city).
BREEAM Excellent label
From the viewpoint of durability, the new Service Center must post construction meet the requirements of the BREEAM-NL mark at the level of ‘Excellent’. BREEAM is an internationally recognized comprehensive assessment method to determine the sustainability performance of buildings. BREEAM Excellent is the second highest level of durability. This means compliance with sustainability requirements in the areas such as health, energy and water consumption, materials used, waste and land use and ecology.

Harnaschpolder business area for DHL Express strategically located in the triangle Rotterdam, The Hague, Gouda, with many international pakketten- and document flows. The third project in a row for the contractor to Stegge
The contractor Stegge will realize the construction in Den Hoorn.
